ICSC to Host SPREE Europe Conference
Confirmed speakers include Prof. Maggie Atkinson of the KidZania education UK think tank; and Dimple Lalwani, founder of the Social Belly on-demand foodie community.
While you are putting the final touches to your mall’s Easter and Earth Day programs, commercial real estate “philosophers” are reflecting on topics like “How Food is Changing the Space of Specialty Retail” and “Buy Local, Think Social.” They’ll be sharing their thoughts next month at ICSC‘s SPREE Europe, a conference on specialty leasing and ancillary income.
Only in its second year, SPREE Europe has been fueled by emerging trends in the estimated €6 billion ($6.6 billion) global specialty leasing sector, from retail curating to the provision of innovative immersive experiences, organizers say. That all makes for a jammed-packed seminar that will rely on case studies from brands that will share their experiences with pop-up retailing as a way to trial new concepts, urban rooftop farming and other creative uses for vacant space, and tackling the financial side of temporary leasing.
“This is an unparalleled opportunity to tap into the knowledge of retail entrepreneurs, brands, and thought leaders,” noted conference chair Clara Maguire, COO of We Are Pop Up.
“ICSC SPREE will lift the lid on innovative approaches to space use, consumer engagement, brand development, and retail business models. This is must-see content for anyone building future retail destinations.”
ICSC has already announced a few of its conference speakers: Aaron Shields, strategy director at Fitch; Rupert Pick, planning and creative director of Hot Pickle, Professor Maggie Atkinson of the KidZania education UK think tank; Fabian Weinländer, director project development for UrbanFarmers; Dimple Lalwani, founder of Social Belly; and Atholl Milton, CEO of Bunnychow and co-founder of Streetdots.
SPREE Europe is slated for March 22 and will take place alongside the ICSC European Outlet Conference at the Business Design Centre in London, UK.
