Sandra de Jenken Takes Up ICSC Post

Sandra de Jenken is the new managing director of ICSC Europe, edging out other candidates to take over the portfolio from Mike Morrissey, the council’s executive VP and chief global officer. A seasoned executive whose background includes working for the French government and organizing major events such as the French Open tennis tournament, she will be relocating from Paris to London in the coming weeks. As a first order of business, de Jenken will focus on advocacy, marketing, communications, and ICSC’s European specialist working groups.

“I am very pleased to join ICSC and to work for such a dynamic industry,” she said in a press brief. “I look forward to this new challenge.”

Morrissey is confident that she will take up that challenge and manage the council’s European arm effectively.

“I am delighted to welcome Sandra to the ICSC European team, based in London. I worked with Sandra many years ago when we both worked in tennis associations, so I know very well her excellent communications skills and work ethic,” he said.

“Since then, Sandra has built up considerable experience in government relations and running major events, which will be invaluable for our advocacy and networking activities.”

Next up on ICSC Europe’s busy calendar this month: the Asset Management Education Seminar (on the 25th), Retail Strategy & Trends Forum (27th), and European Law Forum (also on the 27th) in Berlin, Germany. The council has set the date for its 2016 European Conference as well. Slated for April 18 & 19 in Milan, Italy, it will focus on “Authenticity: Differentiating Retail.”
